Spanx products available at Target
I feel it is my duty to share a little secret with you on the off chance that you have been MIA or visiting a relative in a land far, far away for some time now. (And if so, I hope it was somewhere fabulous like Fiji, for which I’m very jealous.) Or, if you have been busy working, raising children or just trying to keep you head above water from other things (like a lot of women I know), let me throw you a little lifeline.
After chatting with a few of my friends, I realized not everyone was aware of a little known fact. Target sells a brand called “Assets by Sara Blakely,” which is the brand Spanx created for the mass market. The reason I know this to be true is because I used to work for the company that produced both.
I can personally attest to both brands and tell you that the fantastic R&D team (made up solely of very talented women by the way) that created the Spanx brand many moons ago, also helped created the Assets brand.
If you are one of the few women left that have never had (or chosen!) to wear shapewear, then you might not know that there are many, many brands out there that claim to do the same miracle that Spanx does. However, trust me when I tell you that they don’t. Sara Blakely truly revolutionized the shapewear category when she created a comfortable shaping product that you could wear ALL DAY LONG. Reason being? She realized that being sucked in like a stuffed sausage to a traditional cut and sew garment made for miserable times.
She decided to go r
ogue and cut off the legs on her pantyhose. Reason being? She still wanted the smoothing support the control top provided and a lack of panty lines! (Who doesn’t?) Hence, the idea for Spanx was born.
Much softer than pantyhose, Spanx and Assets both do an amazing job of smoothing out your bumps and lumps in products that are truly comfortable. If you take care of them, they also will last a very long time. And best of all they are machine washable!
If you new to the shaping category, try the Power Panty or Higher Power first to smooth out your core. If you decide to save a few dollars and try the Target version, the names are Unbelievable Underwear and Sensational Shaper, both less than $20. You can also buy pantyhose, tights and some new beautiful cut and sew garments that have the amazing slimming features as well. So the next time you’re perusing Target store (and we know you do), stop by the intimate section and check ‘em out. They are a worthwhile investment. Trust me, your bottom line will thank me for it.
